Western and wildlife art, hand painted lamp shades, miniature  paintings,  hand painted  feathers, original paintings of pack strings, scenery paintings and ranch art are the passion of this artist.   Many unique one of a kind gift and collector items done only by Sandi.

I acquired my knowledge of cowboys, horses and ranch life, from living the life and doing the work. My expertise with horses comes from having been horseback from the tender age of five. I know what a cow is planning
before the cow does, however don’t expect me to rope her to change her mind, because I’m no roper.

The most exciting competitive event I have done is  "Cowboy Polo"  I did a lot of barrel racing without any real
 interest.
Of course if I could make a good living at it, I would be on my horse working cattle. That is the real love of my
life other than my art.

Most summers of my childhood  and many adult years were spent in the mountains with the pack string  going
into the
wilderness areas of Idaho and Montana.  To this day, I would rather be camping than anywhere else.  Several seasons
would
find me cooking for outfitters in hunting camps.  I started doing my own shoeing at age thirteen.  Breaking colts from
 age eleven,
going on to  break and train  race, show, and ranch horses.....

I was given the gift to be an artist, creating works in Oil, Watercolor, Sculpture, leather tooling ,  Engraving
and working with many other mediums.

Being in the middle of a horse running full speed to head a cow, feeling a horse go down, or being bucked off,
is a whole lot different than reading a book or watching a movie. The person who has been there knows the feel of
a horses muscles, how he snorted or ducks his head  just as he pitched you skyward.  You know the fear, anger,
excitement or anticipation in a horses, eyes, ears, and body. The same holds true of reading a cow when
you are working with cattle.

This is the knowledge it takes to make a piece of art come to life before the eyes of the viewer. Accuracy in attitude, conformation, and realism are the most important ingredients to making a fine piece of work,
whether it is on canvas, or any other material.

Custom orders are encouraged. Your horse, pack string, cowboy scene, equestrian event, or scenery can be painted or engraved on any surface. Many of my works are used as awards for horse events of every kind.

Please do not hesitate to call, email, write, or drop in.
